Like the similar Space Invaders the aim of the game is to move your ship around and blast away all the aliens, all the time dodging the 'Suicide Ships'that come diving towards you. Like Pac-man it's still an all-time classic probably due to the fact that it's so easy to pick-up-and-play. This game first came out way back in 1979 and is still regarded as one of the most addictive. The game is pretty tricky to control but I found that the mouse gives you greater control than the keyboard or joystick. Race your Formula 1 car around the twisting tracks, watching out for hazards such as Pool's of water and barriers. The second of the four, and one of my favourites is Pole Position, a tricky little racing game that was hugely popular in the mid-eighties. The action takes place in a garden and each time you move part of the land disappears to form a sort of tunnel, you must funnel around watching out for falling rocks and fire-breathing dragons until you have finally defeated the nasty Koopa once and for all. The movement is simple, use the cursor keys to move around and the space bar to destroy enemies. The first of the four games is Dig-Dug, a fun little game that sees you the player take control of the character Dig-Dug as he tries to escape from the evil Koopa.
